What makes 3rd Generation different
These are ground finer than most hobby acrylics, and it shows up in two places. They go through an airbrush with less thinning and far less clogging, and they stay smooth across large flat panels where coarser paints leave texture. That makes them a common choice for vehicles, armor and aircraft, though they brush perfectly well on infantry.
Standard, Metallic and Fluorescent
Standard is the main line and covers most of what you will reach for. Metallic handles brass, steel and gold without the chalkiness cheaper metallics pick up. Fluorescent — Laser Magenta, Luminous Orange and the rest — reaches a brightness ordinary acrylics cannot, which is what you want for energy weapons, hazard markings and sci-fi schemes.
Thinning and airbrushing
3rd Generation sprays with very little thinning — a small amount of acrylic thinner or distilled water is usually enough. Because the pigment is fine, it also sits well under a gloss coat for decals and under enamel washes for weathering, which is the normal order of work on an armor build.
Mixing with other brands
These are water-based acrylics and mix without trouble alongside Citadel, Vallejo, Two Thin Coats and Army Painter Warpaints, so you do not have to commit to one ecosystem. Every color on this page is in stock now and ships nationwide, and both shops carry the racks in store if you would rather pick a shade off the shelf in Stevenson, Maryland or Lemoyne, Pennsylvania.
